Lafayette police arrest man after fatal stabbing

LAFAYETTE, Indiana – Lafayette police have arrested a 34-year-old man following a fatal stabbing in Lafayette.

Police responded to a report of a person stabbed south of Franciscan Health Lafayette East on July 11 at approximately 12:45 a.m. Officers found a man stabbed to death. The victim died at the scene.

Police quickly found a 34-year-old man who knew the victim. He fled the scene before they arrived, police said.

He was found later Thursday morning and arrested on preliminary charges of murder, aggravated assault, assault with a deadly weapon, theft and obstruction of justice.
