1 dead and 3 injured in shooting in West Charlotte, reports CMPD – WSOC TV

CHARLOTTE – Charlotte-Mecklenburg police are investigating a homicide after four people were shot Monday night.

At around 8:30 p.m., paramedics were called to Parker Drive at Remount Road in west Charlotte.

The shooting appears to have been the result of a drug-related incident, the CMPD said in an update.

One was killed, one suffered serious injuries and two others had non-life-threatening injuries. One of the victims with non-life-threatening injuries was a juvenile, police said.

There were several shooters.

The CMPD has not released any further information regarding this homicide case.

This was the third homicide case investigated by CMPD on Monday.

Detectives were called to Rea Road near Piper Glen in Ballantyne around 5:30 a.m. after a shooting left 36-year-old Derrick Byas dead.

About 12 hours later, another fatal shooting occurred on Cinnabay Drive, off West WT Harris Boulevard.

No further details were announced.
