Shooting in Roanoke leaves one dead

ROANOKEVirginia (WFXR) — Police say one man is dead and a suspect is in custody following a shooting Monday night in Roanoke.

According to a press release, Roanoke Police were notified of a person with a gunshot wound in the 2700 block of Mountainaire Avenue NW at 8:17 p.m. Monday evening. A man was found with a gunshot wound that appeared to be life-threatening. Roanoke Fire-EMS transported him to the hospital – where he later died.

According to RPD, everyone involved in the incident has been identified, including a suspect who is in custody. Officials say there is no danger to the public.
