VPD arrests 34-year-old suspect in stabbing

VALDOSTA – Valdosta police have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the investigation of a stabbing on Hightower Street.

Arrested: Malcolm Noel Holsendolph, African American, 34 years old, resident of Valdosta

On June 24, 2024, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Valdosta Police officers responded to a residence in the 400 block of Hightower Street after a citizen called 911 to report someone had been stabbed. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 35-year-old man with a head injury. Officers immediately administered first aid until South Georgia Emergency Medical Services and the Valdosta Fire Department arrived at the scene and began treatment.

When officers began investigating the incident, they were informed that the victim was involved in an argument.
with Malcolm Noel Holsendolph, 34 years old. Holsendolph ordered the victim to step into the front yard of his house. When he did so, Holsendolph attacked him. Holsendolph then left the scene.

Officers found Holsendolph in his apartment, which was not far from the victim’s apartment. Holsendolph
was taken into custody without incident. Holsendolph was taken to the Lowndes County Jail and charged with:

  • Serious bodily harm; and
  • Possession of a knife during the commission of a crime.

The victim was taken to South Georgia Medical Center where he was treated for non-life-threatening
imminent injury.

“This was a great job by our officers who conducted a thorough investigation and quickly took the perpetrator into custody,” said Police Chief Leslie Manahan.
