Houston Texans WR Tank Dell Lists His Top 5 Undersized Athletes of All Time

Athletes who are not blessed with a large frame and are smaller in stature still tend to carry a small piece on their shoulders. They were probably told from a young age that they were “too small.” This statement will stay with them forever and will push them to become the best version of themselves.

It’s no different for Houston Texans WR Tank Dell, who is slightly undersized as an NFL wide receiver at 5-foot-10 and 165 pounds. Dell, who will be entering his second season in the league, posted decent numbers in his rookie season and will look to improve upon them after missing time due to injury.

His stature has not negatively affected him in his quest for greatness, and recently he ranked his top five undersized athletes of all time, whom he named legends.

Dell lists both football players as 5’7″ and 5’6″, respectively, and both were instrumental on their teams, starting at running back in MJD and Darren Sproles.

Two elite boxers also made Dell’s list: the famous Floyd Mayweather Jr., who stands 5’8″, and WBA lightweight titleholder Gervonta “Tank” Davis, who is even shorter at 5′ 5″. To round it all out, Dell listed NBA legend Spud Webb, who played among the trees at just 5’6″ but was also an elite athletic specimen capable of dunk at that height.

This goes to show that stature, height, weight and size don’t always guarantee a successful career in any sport, but it helps. Regardless, having an authentic heart that breeds great character and a passion for the game will always travel with an athlete further than any measurements surrounding their body.
