17-year-old killed in shooting in Chesapeake: police

CHESAPEAKE, Virginia – Police say a 17-year-old was shot and killed in Chesapeake on Saturday.

Officers said they responded to reports of shots fired in the 3000 block of Parkside Drive around 3:30 a.m. on June 22.

While searching the area, officers found a 17-year-old boy who had apparent gunshot wounds.

Officials said they administered first aid until the boy could be taken to a hospital.

Shortly after arriving at the hospital, the boy’s death was confirmed, police said.
