Man found dead after suspected shooting near northwest apartment complex

SAN ANTONIO – A man is dead after an alleged shooting incident near the entrance of an apartment complex in the city’s northwest side.

The incident occurred around 4:18 a.m. Sunday near the Serenity Apartments at 6400 Wurzbach Road.

According to the sergeant on scene, residents reported hearing a loud bang and upon investigation found a man who had collided with some small trees near the entrance of the complex. Residents pulled the man from the vehicle to render aid, but found that he had been shot. Emergency responders arrived and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Police say they have limited information about the shooting itself. Shell casings were found in the immediate area, but investigators have no leads at this time. No other injuries were reported.
