Three teenagers arrested for allegedly raping a girl because of her Jewish heritage: REPORT

Three teenagers were arrested by French police for allegedly assaulting and raping a 12-year-old girl in an anti-Semitic attack, Le Parisien reported on Tuesday.

The alleged attackers, aged 12, 13 and 14, are said to have dragged the young girl from a park near her home into a shed, where they beat and raped her “while making death threats and anti-Semitic remarks,” the news agency reported in French. One alleged attacker allegedly called her a “dirty Jew,” The Jewish Chronicle reported. One of the alleged attackers was her former boyfriend, Le Parisien reported. The minors partially admitted the allegations during a court hearing and confessed that they were motivated by revenge, the newspaper said.

The former boyfriend said he was angry because she had kept her Judaism a secret from him, the outlet reported. The boyfriend’s phone allegedly contained anti-Semitic comments and images such as a burned Israeli flag, the outlet said. A second alleged attacker allegedly told officers he was motivated to harm the girl because she had expressed anti-Palestinian views, the French media outlet reported.

The young girl underwent a gynecological examination at a medical facility, which confirmed the rape, the outlet said.

The prosecutor’s office told the news agency that two of the three were charged with aggravated rape, sexual assault, attempted extortion, violence during a meeting against minors under 15 “and for religious reasons, violation of privacy by fixing, recording or transmitting an image of a person of a sexual nature, repeated death threats, insult for religious reasons.” The third suspect “was admitted as an assisted witness in relation to the acts of rape and charged with the remaining crimes specified in the indictment.”
