Carriage Lau was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison for sexually abusing women and minors

Notorious YouTuber “Carriage” Lau Chun-hin was sentenced to 24 weeks in prison on Friday for sexually abusing eight women, including at least three minors, in Tin Shui Wai and Tsuen Wan between November and January.

Lau, 27, previously pleaded guilty to all nine counts of indecent assault. The sex crimes occurred between November 29 last year and January 1, when he allegedly touched the calves of the women and girls while pretending to pick up items that had fallen on the floor.

The crime scenes included Tin Shui Wai Sports Ground, Chak Fai House in Tin Chak Estate, Grandeur Terrace Shopping Centre, Mall T Town, Yat Wu House in Tin Yat Estate and Yata Department Store in Tsuen Wan Plaza, etc.

The defense said Lau disagreed with one of the psychiatric reports the Tuen Mun court had previously obtained, which said Lau had a high probability of reoffending.

The defense added that Lau wanted to apologize to the victims in this case. Lau was ashamed of his crimes and was determined not to do anything like this in the future.

In announcing the verdict, Deputy Chief Judge Daniel Tang Siu-hung noted that Lau had repeatedly committed the same crime in a similar manner within a short period of time.

Tang also referred to the report, which indicated that Lau was at high risk of reoffending, and ultimately sentenced Lau to 24 weeks in prison.
