Police: Woman in Las Vegas with suspected impairment leaves one dead in traffic accident

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A Las Vegas driver was involved in a fatal crash with two other passengers in the vehicle, leaving one dead and another seriously injured, police reports show.

On June 9 at approximately 2 p.m., Risa Hannah, 29, was traveling with Jade Hernandez, 27, and another adult female. Driver Hannah was traveling on US95 and attempted to turn onto State Route 147, but lost control.

The Nissan began to spin clockwise, drove left into the dirt ravine and rolled over several times before coming to rest on its roof.

Hannah was taken to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and later arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the Clark County Detention Center, police reports say.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Hernandez and the second passenger were not wearing seat belts. Hernandez succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The second passenger was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

The Nevada State Police Highway Patrol is currently conducting an ongoing investigation. In 2024, the NSP investigated 29 fatal crashes that resulted in 36 deaths.
