Man killed in car crash in Mineral Wells | News, Sports, Jobs

MINERAL WELLS – A local man was killed in a fatal car crash in Mineral Wells early Wednesday morning, according to the Wood County Sheriff’s Department.

A post on the department’s Facebook page said 911 sent out a call about a fatal car crash at 2:22 a.m. Wednesday.

John Diamond, 48, 205 Left Fork of Buck Run Road, was driving a Chevrolet 2500 southbound on Southern Highway near Oakwood Drive, the post said. Diamond’s vehicle veered off the right side of the road, struck a utility pole guy wire and then a tree.

Diamond was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was the only occupant of the vehicle.

The investigation is still ongoing, the sheriff’s department said.
