“Jersey Shore” star Angelina Pivarnick charged with assault

Angelina Pivarnick, known for her role in the MTV series “Jersey Shore,” is facing several criminal charges following an alleged incident that occurred at her New Jersey home over the weekend.

Although few details about the incident are currently known, the 37-year-old is allegedly accused of assault, property damage, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice, according to a subpoena obtained by TMZ.

“This is nothing more than a very minor incident that was exacerbated by a side effect of a prescribed over-the-counter medication,” her attorney James Leonard told the outlet in a statement Wednesday.

Leonard claims the incident was exaggerated, adding that they “look forward to bringing this matter to a positive conclusion and putting it behind us. Angelina is resting at home and has no further comment at this time.”

Police were reportedly called to Pivarnick’s home in Freehold, New Jersey, on Sunday evening. She currently shares the home with her fiancé, Vinny Tortorella, although it is not yet known if he was involved in the incident.

According to authorities, details of the case will not be disclosed as it remains an ongoing criminal investigation.

Police have reportedly been called twice in the past regarding domestic disputes between the couple – once on July 30 last year and again on November 1. However, no charges were filed either time.

Pivarnick faces numerous charges and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
