According to a statement from the AWLA, their animal control was called around 8:30 p.m. “to the area of ​​Spout Run Parkway near North Adams Street” in Arlington to find a suspected dead dog in a plastic bag.

Upon arrival, an officer identified the animal in the bag as an adult black bear. The bear was examined and taken away for further forensic examination.

How it died has not yet been disclosed.

A woman wrote on Nextdoor that she was walking on a trail with her son and dog when she found the bear’s body.
