LATEST: Highway 115 west of Clarkesville closed due to serious accident

Habersham County emergency crews remain on scene of a serious crash on Highway 115 west of Clarkesville.

The accident occurred on Friday, May 31, around 1:30 p.m. near Crestview Road.

Both lanes of the highway are closed between Fred Pitts and McConnell Road. Traffic is being diverted. Drivers should avoid the area if possible.

Authorities have not released any details. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating.
