Medical incident shuts down traffic on Highway 22, Intracoastal Waterway, Horry County Fire Department says

HORRY COUNTY, SC (WBTW) — Traffic on Highway 22 near N. Kings Highway in Horry County is currently closed while emergency crews respond to a medical incident, authorities said.

Boat traffic on the Intracoastal Waterway is also blocked because of the incident, according to Horry County Fire Department, which arrived on the scene around 10:30 a.m.

Assisting are Horry County Police, South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, South Carolina Department of Public Safety, U.S. Coast Guard, and the North Myrtle Beach and Myrtle Beach Fire Departments.

Authorities are asking everyone to avoid the area to avoid possible delays and ensure the safety of teams working on site.
