Pedestrian seriously injured after accident in Newington: Police

NEWINGTON, CT — A pedestrian was seriously injured when he was struck by a vehicle in Newington Monday evening.

According to Newington Police, officers were called to the area between Richard Street and Willard Avenue around 9:30 p.m. for a report of a car crash involving a pedestrian.

According to police, the pedestrian was taken by ambulance to a local hospital where he was treated for “serious injuries.”

The driver of the vehicle remained on site and cooperated with the police, the NPD wrote in a statement.

The Mid-State Accident Reconstruction Squad is currently investigating the incident.
