Josh Allen says Keon Coleman is perfect for the Buffalo Bills offense

The Bills were in dire need of a receiver after Buffalo sent Stefon Diggs to the Texans. The team then optioned Keon Coleman in the second round of the NFL Draft.

Josh Allen thinks Coleman, the former Florida State star, was the absolutely perfect choice for the Bills. Granted, the quarterback and receiver haven’t had much time to get acquainted on the field. Buffalo has just started the third phase of OTAs. In this phase, veterans and rookies are together on the field for the first time.

You can’t predict how a rookie will react in the regular season based on a handful of seven-on-seven drills. But you can get an idea.

“I think his style of play (is) what we needed in our offense,” Allen told NFL Network. “I spoke with our offensive coordinator (Joe Brady), our quarterbacks coach (Ronald Curry), (general manager) Brandon Beane and obviously coach (Sean) McDermott, a guy who is a big guy and who can win a game. -shoulder fades and I’m not afraid to be a physical wide receiver.

Coleman is 6 feet 4 inches tall and weighs 215 pounds. He was part of a historic class of receivers. The Bills selected him with the 33rd pick in last month’s draft. This makes him the first pick in the second round. Seven receivers were selected in the first. The Bills traded up twice in the first round before making a pick in the second. Due to the depth of the recruiting class, the team was still able to land a top prospect.
