SCV man arrested again at hearing

A Santa Clarita Valley man who was released on bail in Ventura County after being charged with sex crimes against a minor – following two convictions for distributing marijuana to a minor in the SCV – was rearrested on May 17, Sheriff’s Department records show.

Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Daniel Feldstern on May 15 ordered a no-bail warrant and revocation of bail for Christian Navarro, 25, of Newhall, after Navarro’s probation officer submitted a report the previous day.

Two days later, Feldstern held a hearing on an arrest warrant for Navarro, during which he was taken into custody and held on $380,000 bail.

Navarro was released on bail the following day, according to LASD arrest records available online. His attorney, Jeffrey Valens, argued unsuccessfully for his release, according to court documents.

Navarro is due back in court on June 4 to answer alleged probation violations related to his December 2023 conviction for distributing marijuana to minors.

Feldstern imposed a four-year suspended sentence on Navarro in that case. This was the second time he was caught selling marijuana to minors by the SCV Sheriff’s Department’s Youth Intervention Team, according to local authorities. The first offense resulted in a four-day jail sentence.

The Ventura County District Attorney’s Office also confirmed that Navarro faces half a dozen charges, including seduction and sex crimes against a child.

He was arrested on May 10 on suspicion of these charges.

He pleaded not guilty to those charges on May 14 and was released the same day after his bail was set at $60,000.

He is due back in court in Ventura County on June 7 to face charges related to the alleged sex crimes.
