Construction accident sends motorcyclist to hospital – The Livingston Post.com

A 69-year-old Fenton man driving a 2021 Harley Davidson Street Glide motorcycle is hospitalized in serious condition after being struck by a 2019 Ford Transit in a construction area on Argentine Road near Sedge Lane in Deerfield Township -The delivery truck was hit.

According to a release from the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, around 1:28 p.m. On Tuesday, May 21, the motorcyclist was stopped due to a construction site on Argentine Road, with a single lane under caution at either end. While the Harley-Davidson driver was flagged down by a construction worker, he was flagged down by the Transit van driven by a 45-year-old man from Southgate.

The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries and was transported by Livingston County EMS to Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc. He was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The man driving the Ford Transit was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured.

Distracted driving appears to have been a factor in the accident. The road was closed for about four hours for investigation and cleanup.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by personnel from the Hartland Area Fire Department and Livingston County EMS.

The accident remains under investigation by the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Safety Bureau.
