Man arrested for allegedly chasing child with knife in Wapato | News

WAPATO, Wash. – A man was arrested in Wapato on Thursday, May 16, after he allegedly chased a child with a knife at a bus stop, according to Wapato police.

According to WPD, officers were dispatched to the 500 block of Donald Road around 6:45 a.m. An investigation heard a child was alone at the bus stop waiting to be picked up for school when a man produced a knife and chased him.

The child remained unharmed. Officers found the man outside a nearby homeless shelter and arrested him.

Several charges have been brought against the man, including assault. He was booked into the Yakima County Jail.
