A Georgia man flew to Texas to sexually assault and threaten his ex-wife, officials say

Antiwan Lane was convicted of aggravated sexual assault and sentenced to life in prison outside Montgomery County.

During a weeklong trial, authorities gave evidence of repeated harassment and threats by the 47-year-old toward his ex-wife, who lives in Montgomery County, while Lane lived in Georgia.

While Lane was on probation in Georgia for involuntary manslaughter, aggravated assault and criminal solicitation, he flew to Texas and entered his ex-wife’s Montgomery County home in the early morning hours of September 14, 2021 without her knowledge.

According to officials, he stormed into the ex-wife’s bedroom, physically and sexually assaulted her and then threatened to kill her.

The victim gave a statement about the attack and the jury also heard evidence from law enforcement that there were hidden cameras in the ex-wife’s home’s smoke detectors that Lane had installed to monitor her without her knowledge.

Lane was found guilty and sentenced to life in prison. He will be eligible for parole in 35 years. The case was investigated by the Montgomery County Pct. 3 Constables Office.
