On Tuesday, May 14, a man was found guilty by the Delhi High Court of raping his own 10-year-old daughter for more than two years. The trial court found the man not guilty in June 2019, but the Supreme Court overturned the verdict. The victim stated in her statement that she had been abused by her father for the past two years and the first information report was filed in January 2013. The last recorded sexual assault occurred on January 4, 2013. This was noted by the court that the victim girl may have believed her father was a “convent” even though “he was a monster”.
