A man dies in a stabbing at a bodega in Queens: NYPD

Police in Queens are investigating a fatal stabbing attack at a bodega early Tuesday morning.

According to law enforcement sources, the bloodshed occurred around 12:30 p.m. on May 7 at the Sinal Mini Mart at 97-02 Queens Blvd. at Rego Park.

Members of 112th DistrictWhile responding to a 911 call about the stabbing, he found an unconscious man outside the scene with a stab wound to the chest.

According to WABC-TV, the victim — believed to be in his 20s or 30s — may have been stabbed during an argument over beer. However, police sources could not confirm these details to amNewYork Metro.

Paramedics took the wounded man to Elmhurst Hospital, where he died a short time later. The NYPD has not yet released his identity and is awaiting notification from family.

So far there have been no arrests as part of the ongoing investigation, police said.

The 112th District, traditionally one of the safest in New York City, has had no homicides since the beginning of the year through May 5, according to the latest CompStat report. Overall, serious crime fell by 9.1% over the year, with fewer than 280 crimes reported.
