Over 70 damaged vehicles found in “mass graffiti incident” in Oak Lawn

OAK LAWN, IL — Early Sunday morning, over 70 vehicles were discovered in an incident described by Oak Lawn police as a “mass graffiti attack.” Oak Lawn police have released surveillance images of a person believed to be involved and are asking the public for help in identifying him.

When residents woke up on Sunday, they found their vehicles had been spray-painted overnight. The suspected vandal targeted the area between Cicero Avenue and Laramie Avenue, from 107th to 111th Street, police said. Many of the vehicles were spray-painted with “BLM” or “crack.”

The only person on foot was captured on surveillance cameras, police said. He appears to be a white man wearing a dark hoodie with the hood pulled up, gray sweatpants, brown boots and a black backpack.

Detectives are currently searching for additional victims and are looking for video footage that residents may be able to use to identify the person.

Anyone with information or video is asked to contact the Oak Lawn Police Detective Division at 708-907-4051 or text tips and videos to 708-613-TIPS (8477).
