The Local Government Employees Union will work with postal workers’ unions to change policies and pass legislation to better protect postal workers.

The union said more than 140 letter carriers have been attacked on the job in Chicago since August 2022.

Some of the mail carriers who have been robbed, attacked or subjected to violence on their routes plan to tell their stories at the rally, which is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. at the union building in South Wabash.
