Louisiana police officer arrested for first-degree rape

A former New Roads, Louisiana police officer was arrested on Saturday, July 20, and charged with multiple sex crimes involving children.

According to reports, Kedreyon Williams was arrested by the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office on several misdemeanors.

The charges against Williams include:

  • First degree rape of a victim under 13 years of age
  • First degree rape with a dangerous weapon
  • Indecent behavior towards a minor
  • Pornography involving a minor

Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff Rene Thibodeaux said in a statement that the New Roads Police Department has asked the sheriff’s office to investigate possible charges against the officer.

According to New Roads Police Chief Cedrick Epps, Williams has not been employed by his department since he began his tenure as chief in March 2024.

He also confirmed that Williams was a part-time officer with the New Roads Police Department, although Epps did not know the exact dates of his employment.

No further information is currently available and the investigation is ongoing.
