Spartanburg woman arrested Thursday for attempted murder

SPARTANBURG, SC (WSPA) – Officers responded to a 911 call regarding a disturbance involving gun violence Thursday evening.

The officer noticed a large crowd of people in the Wofford Street parking lot, and several people were yelling at a woman named Keritha Tucker who was sitting in a Jeep Wrangler.

Tucker told the officer that she was fleeing from a man named “Paper,” later identified as Patrick Landrum, who smashed her car window and attacked her, causing her to lose control of the vehicle.

The accident involved multiple vehicles. A witness told officers that Tucker attempted to run over Landrum, but first struck his vehicle and pursued him on the lawn, where she struck a moped on the steps of the building.

Tucker then turned the vehicle around, crashed into the Duke Energy and Landrum electrical box, and then into a parked vehicle with three passengers.

Tucker told the officer that she was attacked by Landrum and tried to flee. She stated that she did not realize that she had crashed into the vehicles, the building and the electrical box.

Landrum told officers he was Tucker’s daughter’s boyfriend and had been involved in a physical altercation at the same location earlier that day.

Landrum said he was there to help his aunt when he noticed Tucker on the roof of her Jeep, shouting obscenities at him.

An unknown person in the complex threw an unknown object at Tucker. They then jumped into their vehicle and began chasing Landrum.

Tucker was arrested and charged with attempted murder, malicious damage to property and driving under the influence.
