Easthampton man arrested after police seized over 100 grams of methamphetamine

EASTHAMPTON, Massachusetts (WWLP) – An Easthampton man was arrested last week on several drug charges.

According to the Massachusetts State Police, on Thursday, July 12, the 41-year-old Calvin Harris of Easthampton, was arrested following a search of his residence during which approximately 121 grams of suspected “crystal rock” methamphetamine, MDMA (ecstasy pills), and a small amount of GHB (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid) were seized.

The arrest followed a months-long investigation by the Massachusetts State Police, assisted by the Easthampton Police Department, the U.S. Postal Inspection Service, the DEA and the Northwestern County District Attorney’s Office.

Harris was accused of:

  • Trafficking in methamphetamine 100-200 grams
  • Possession with intent to distribute Class A (gamma-hydroxybutyric acid)
  • Possession with intent to distribute Class B (Ecstasy

“I cannot stress enough the importance of eradicating methamphetamine from our communities,” said Colonel Mawn. “This drug destroys lives, fuels crime, and undermines the safety and well-being of our neighborhoods. We are committed to combating methamphetamine trafficking through our dedicated, multidisciplinary task force approach, which includes collaboration with public health and social service partners, local police departments, federal agencies, district attorneys, the Attorney General, and the U.S. Attorney’s Office. We will continue to work tirelessly to rid our streets of this dangerous substance and provide support to those affected by its influence.”
