First Alert Weather: Mid-summer weather conditions will persist

ROCHESTER, NY — It looks like it will be very hot and humid to start the week. In addition, News 10NBC First Alert meteorologists are predicting a greater chance of passing showers and thunderstorms on Monday and Tuesday. The greatest chance will be during the afternoon hours when some downpours are possible. This tropical air will linger through Wednesday morning, but by midweek a cold front will move across the Rochester area. This will “squeeze” much of the heat and moisture out of the atmosphere, bringing much more pleasant weather for Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Sunday night will be partly cloudy with the possibility of a thunderstorm. Temperatures will only drop to just under 21 degrees. Monday will see a mix of clouds and sunshine with a few showers, or a thunderstorm is possible. Highs will be between 27 and 30 degrees. Tuesday will see a few rays of sunshine, but more showers or thunderstorms are possible. Due to the high humidity, a few showers are possible again. Then on Wednesday, all persistent showers will end in the morning and skies will become partly sunny. It will become noticeably cooler and drier, and the pleasant weather will continue until the end of the week.
