Route 283 eastbound lanes reopened in Mount Joy Twp. after accident (Update) | Local News

The eastbound lanes on Route 283 in Mount Joy Township have been reopened following an accident Friday evening.

According to the Lancaster County-Wide Communications website, the accident was reported shortly after 7:30 p.m. in the area of ​​the Ridge Road Bridge and the Cloverleaf Road exit.

Cameras on the 511PA website showed traffic backed up in the area, with some eastbound traffic being diverted to Route 743 at the Hershey/Elizabethtown exit.

511PA reported that the accident scene was cleared shortly after 8:30 p.m., but traffic was still being held up in the area. There were also additional delays on the west side of Route 283 due to gawkers.
