Teen charged with 42 counts of car burglary, arrested

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — Two teenagers are now in jail after they were caught in a stolen vehicle in Raleigh on Wednesday.

A 17-year-old male is charged with theft of property valued between $10,000 and $60,000, auto theft, 42 counts of burglary of a motor vehicle, evading arrest on foot, and seven counts of theft of property valued at $1,000 or less charged with two counts of attempted burglary of a motor vehicle, possession of burglary tools, theft of property valued between $2,500 and $10,000, two counts of theft of property under $2,500 with a firearm and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia.


A 15-year-old male is charged with theft of property valued between $10,000 and $60,000, auto theft, evading arrest on foot and intentionally evading arrest in a motor vehicle.

Investigators say the teens have also been linked to several other car theft cases.

A black Kia Forte was reportedly spotted near New Allen and Scenic Highway in Raleigh on Wednesday. The Kia Forte was reported stolen just days earlier.

Members of the Memphis Police Department Organized Crime Auto Theft Task Force, Appling Farm Task Force and Bartlett Task Force took the two male teenagers in the stolen car into custody.
