IDF: Syrian army broke agreement and attacked army

The Israeli military has attacked Syrian army infrastructure facilities in the Golan Heights, which the military says violates the 1974 Israel-Syria troop withdrawal agreement, the Israeli military said on Wednesday.

The associated targets include the Syrian army’s military infrastructure, including tanks and artillery.

The Israeli military said it was responsible for everything that happened on its territory and would not tolerate any attempts to violate the separation agreement.

The Israel-Syria Agreement

The troop withdrawal agreement was signed between Israel and Syria on May 31, 1974. The aim of this agreement was to create a buffer zone and prevent possible clashes.

The attack on Syrian infrastructure came a day after Israeli couple Noa and Nir Baranes were killed in a Hezbollah rocket attack on the Golan Heights.
