Sex registrant who sexually harassed schoolgirl convicted

A convicted sex offender who sexually assaulted a girl in the bathroom of a Riverside elementary school was sentenced Tuesday to 15 years to life in state prison.

Logan Allen Nighswonger, 34, of Riverside pleaded guilty in May to forcing a child under 14 to perform sexual acts as part of a negotiated agreement with the Riverside District Attorney’s Office. In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors dropped three related charges against Nighswonger.

During a hearing at the Riverside Hall of Justice on Tuesday, Superior Court Judge Joshlyn Pulliam upheld the terms of the agreement and imposed the sentence agreed to by the prosecution and defense.
