The suspected stabber fled the scene before police arrived, but later turned himself in to Lauderhill police, police confirmed.

Police identified the stabber as Derrick Woodard, who was in a relationship with the victim at the time of the crime.

A neighbor who did not want to appear on camera told NBC6 that he was outside working in his yard when he saw the suspect come home and leave a few minutes later.

A neighbor said the woman’s daughter ran outside screaming, “He stabbed my mother,” before another neighbor called 911.
