Two-month-old baby dies in Sacramento, police investigate

Sacramento Police officers said they were called to the 1600 block of El Camino Avenue West around 3:30 p.m. for a child who was not breathing.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Sacramento police are investigating the death of a 2-month-old baby Saturday after being called to the South Natomas area because the child was not breathing.

Officers with the Sacramento Police Department said they were called to the 1600 block of West El Camino Avenue around 3:30 p.m. for a child not breathing. Emergency crews arrived on scene and transported the child to the hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

It is unclear why the child stopped breathing and whether anyone was arrested. No further information is available at this time.
