A 40-year-old North Ridgeville man has been charged with domestic violence after allegedly attacking a person at an Elyria home on July 3.

The latest violations mark the fifth time Albert Orlosky has been charged with domestic violence after being convicted of the same offense four times, upgrading the offense to a third-degree felony, according to an Elyria police report.

Orlosky was convicted of domestic violence in 2013 in Medina County Court, in 2011 in Howard Gentry Criminal Court in Nashville, Tennessee, and twice in 2006 in Cuyahoga County Court, the report said.

Shortly before midnight on July 2, Elyria police were called to a residence in the 100 block of St. Andrews Court for a domestic dispute.

Orlosky was drunk and was causing a disturbance in the basement of the house with a 17-year-old boy, the report said.

According to a witness who spoke to police, a physical altercation occurred between Orlosky and the teenager.

After the witness broke up the fight, Orlosky punched the teenager on the right side of his head, the report said.

The teenager began hitting Orlosky in self-defense, the report said.

Orlosky went back upstairs and the police were contacted.

When officers arrived, it turned out that Orlosky was the main aggressor in the altercation.

Police said Orlosky was “heavily intoxicated,” the report said.

Officers arrested Orlosky without incident and took him to the Lorain County Jail, where he remains incarcerated on $25,000 bail set by Elyria Municipal Court, according to police and court records.

He is scheduled to appear for a pretrial hearing on July 10.
