Passenger shot and killed on Nottoway Road – State Police looking for suspect

NOTTOWAY COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) – A woman is dead after someone from another vehicle fired shots at the car she was riding in early Friday morning, according to police.

On Friday, July 5, at approximately 1:40 a.m., a Kia sedan was traveling west on Route 460 in Nottoway County when someone in another car fired shots at the Kia. According to Virginia State Police, the suspect vehicle drove away shortly afterward.

The unidentified driver of the Kia was uninjured, but his passenger was shot. According to state police, the unidentified woman was taken to a local hospital where she later died.

The Virginia State Police are currently investigating various leads and believe this is an isolated incident.
