Three injured in bus accident at Murray State softball on route to Tuscaloosa Regional

Three people were hospitalized after the bus carrying the Murray State softball team to an NCAA regional tournament in Tuscaloosa, Ala., was involved in an accident Wednesday.

The Murray State Athletics Twitter account posted that the bus was involved in an accident on the way to Tuscaloosa Regional. The post said three “individuals were taken to hospital for further evaluation with non-life-threatening injuries.”

The post said: “The remaining players/staff are safe and uninjured.”

Murray State received an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament for winning the Ohio Valley Conference tournament. The racers are 40-16-1.

Murray State is scheduled to face Stanford in a first-round game of the tournament on Friday at 5:30 p.m. The winner of this game will play the winner of Alabama vs. Chattanooga.
