NO INJURIES IN CRASH: OSHP investigates small plane crash near OU Airport | News, Sports, Jobs

ATHENS – Authorities in Athens County are investigating a single-engine plane crash on Ohio 32 across from the airport near Ohio University Airport in Albany.

The plane encountered a crosswind during landing and crashed through a fence and landed in a ditch, according to a report on the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) website.

According to the Albany Volunteer Fire Department, two people on board the plane were uninjured.

The accident was reported on Sunday around 8 p.m., the department said.

The accident is being investigated by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The 1976 Cessna is registered to Pro Rentals according to the FAA registry.
