Accident in Phoenix leaves one dead

Phoenix police responded to a fatal crash near 19th and Glendale Avenue Saturday evening.

PHOENIX — A man is dead after being struck by a car in downtown Phoenix Saturday night, city police said.

On June 29, Phoenix Police detectives responded to a fatal crash near 18th and Glendale Avenue around 11:30 p.m. A female driver struck a man who was attempting to cross the middle of the street without paying attention to marked crosswalks, police said.

The driver remained at the scene to speak with police, and firefighters pronounced the man dead.

The police did not provide any further information about the incident.
