Escalator malfunction at American Family Field leaves 11 injured, Milwaukee Brewers issue statement

At least 11 people were injured in an escalator malfunction at American Family Field in Milwaukee on Saturday. The incident occurred after the Milwaukee Brewers’ game against the Chicago Clubs. Of the 11 injured, six were taken to hospitals, although their injuries were reported as non-life-threatening. The Milwaukee Brewers also issued a statement on the incident.

Tyler Barnes, senior vice president of communications and affiliate operations for the Brewers, confirmed the incident and told 12 News that there was a malfunction in the escalator that transports fans from the terrace to the box level, causing their downward movement to accelerate.

Six of the eleven injured were taken to hospitals, but their injuries were not life-threatening.
