Suspect arrested in connection with early morning stabbing in downtown Spokane

SPOKANE, Washington – The Spokane Police Department (SPD) has arrested a man in connection with a stabbing incident in downtown Spokane.

According to SPD, officers responded to a report of a stabbing around 6:30 a.m. on June 28 following an altercation between two men near 200 South Division Street. Police said the suspect stabbed the victim with a piece of glass.

During the altercation, one of the men suffered a cut on the side of his face. The suspect fled the scene and police began searching for him.

The suspect was found on foot east of the accident scene, but initially did not cooperate with the SPD officers. He was later arrested without further incident.

Elisha Geiger, 24, was booked into the Spokane County Jail on charges of second-degree assault and obstruction of justice. The victim, who suffered non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to a local hospital. Police noted that Geiger had been arrested in the area before on charges of assault.
