Man accused of raping woman under pretense of marriage

A 25-year-old man has been booked by the Warje-Malwadi police for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage. The incident took place between March and May this year and the accused has been identified as Dilip Gole.

By promising marriage, the accused gained her trust and raped her. When the woman later asked him about her marriage, he broke off all contact with her and did not respond to her calls and messages.

On Monday, the victim approached Warje-Malwadi police station and filed a complaint against the accused under Section 376 (rape) of the Indian Penal Code. Further investigation is underway.
