Ariel Walters pleads guilty in Lakewood Amber Alert

Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Court records show that Walters pleaded guilty earlier this week on June 24 to the following charges:

Charges of attempted murder, domestic violence and aggravated assault were dropped.

Walters’ sentencing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Thursday, July 18.

Walters was arrested and charged with stabbing her husband to death on the morning of Christmas Eve before taking their one-year-old daughter, which triggered the Amber Alert. When police arrived at the scene around 2:20 a.m. that morning, they reported finding a 30-year-old man with a stab wound to the neck.

The Amber Alert was finally lifted on December 29 after police said the child was safely returned and Walters turned himself in.
