Jealous ex killed NYC cab driver, then sent his family horrific photos and creepy voice messages, relative says

A popular Bronx taxi driver was allegedly stabbed to death by his jealous ex-girlfriend. The girlfriend sent his family photos of his bloodied corpse and left gruesome voice messages, relatives of the victim told the Washington Post.

“Papito, I called the ambulance and the police,” Mirda Degracia, accused of murder, is said to have said in a voice message to Reynaldo Luna’s family. “I killed your brother-in-law.”

In other news, Degracia – who is now accused of killing her ex in their Bronx apartment on Sunday morning – taunted another of Luna’s exes.

“I told you he was coming back to me. He’s here with me. So who lost here, you or me?” she said. “And who won? Look at the proof I sent you that he’s here with me.”

According to Luna’s family, the accused murderer’s “evidence” consists of photos of his lifeless body sent via his cell phone.

“The first photo was sent to Reynaldo’s brother-in-law, Papito, in the Dominican Republic,” Luna’s niece, Kelly Garces, said Tuesday. “She sent them to nieces and nephews. She sent them from his phone and her phone.”

“She sent photos at 3 a.m. He was visibly injured. He was bleeding from the mouth,” she said. “She sent three photos from different angles showing her stabbing him.”

“Nobody could reach him. She had his phone. He couldn’t call for help.”

Luna, 63, was found with a stab wound to the chest in the Soundview neighborhood of the Bronx around 9:40 a.m. Sunday and was taken to Jacobi Hospital Medical Center, where he died, police said.

Degracia, 52, his possessive ex, is charged with murder and manslaughter in his death.

“She was stalking him,” Garces said Tuesday. “She came here. She called him. She texted him. She kept telling him she wanted to kill herself. It was manipulation.”

“We didn’t take it seriously. We didn’t think she would go that far,” Garces said. “We thought the last time they broke up, it was over. That was December of last year.”

Luna, who is from the Dominican Republic, was a loving father of three who cherished his family, relatives said.

Garces said he met Degracia in the Dominican Republic when they were both “very young,” but his family never considered the relationship very serious and in recent years he has had his own apartment in New York.

She said her uncle ended the relationship, but Degracia recently started complaining that he owed her money.

“That day, she called him and asked him to come to her house to pay off a debt. I think it was about $6,000, based on what my mom said,” Garces said. “We thought he wasn’t coming.”

Early that morning, Luna stopped by his sister’s apartment, had breakfast and left, promising to return for a large family dinner planned for that evening, Garces said.

“My mother stayed up until 5 a.m. waiting for him,” she said. “She tried to call him, but he didn’t answer. My mother was worried. (Degracia) kept calling him that day about the money he owed. I think that’s why he went there.”

Grace’s mother, Eusebia Brioso, was too distraught to speak to the Post about her brother’s death.

Degracia was arraigned on Monday and ordered held without bail. She is due back in court on Friday.
