Punjab man shoots daughter, mother and dog before killing himself

Chandigarh:

A man shot dead his mother, daughter and dog in Barnala district of Punjab and then took his own life with his revolver, police said on Sunday.

The incident occurred on Saturday evening at his residence in Ram Rajya Colony, it said.

Kulbir Mann Singh first shot dead his 21-year-old daughter Nimrat Kaur and then killed his mother Balwant Kaur (85) and his dog, a police official said.

They added that he later killed himself with a licensed revolver.

Initial investigations have shown that the man has been suffering from depression for some time, the official said.

According to police, Mann’s daughter had only recently returned from Canada. Further investigations are ongoing, they said.
