Kennedy said Tuscaloosa police officers were called to the home around 10 p.m. on a report of a shooting.

They found 34-year-old Christopher Shobe at the crime scene, suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Shobe was taken to hospital but later succumbed to his injuries, Kennedy said.

No arrests have been made yet, and Kennedy said VCU is actively investigating the case, using its rigorous approach to responding to a homicide case.

“Anyone who witnessed this incident or has any information is asked to contact the Violent Crimes Unit at (205) 464-8690 or the Tuscaloosa Police Department at (205) 349-212,” Kennedy said. “You may also contact Crime Stoppers at 205-752-STOP (7867) to leave confidential, anonymous tips and qualify for cash rewards.”
