Chicago Police: Mass shooting in Humboldt Park leaves five injured – NBC Chicago

At least six people were injured in a mass shooting in Chicago’s Humboldt Park neighborhood, including a 15-year-old who suffered serious injuries.

According to Chicago police, a group was standing in the 900 block of North Pulaski around 12:46 a.m. Monday when an unknown assailant opened fire, hitting at least five people.

A 15-year-old girl was shot in the neck and taken to a nearby hospital in serious condition, authorities said.

An 18-year-old woman was shot twice in the back but was in good condition at an area hospital. A 35-year-old man, a 25-year-old man and a 33-year-old woman were also struck by gunfire and were all in good condition at area hospitals.

A sixth victim, a 31-year-old woman, was taken to hospital after the shooting with a wound to her right thigh. She is in good condition, police said.

The police are still investigating. Initial reports indicate that the shooter fled the scene on foot, but no further information was immediately available.
