Severe weather warning day: May 8, 2024

The National Weather Service has notified the public that severe thunderstorms are expected in Arkansas during the afternoon, evening and overnight hours on Wednesday, May 8.

The warning indicates there is an increased risk of severe weather in the region, including Arkansas Tech University campuses in Russellville and Ozark. Hazards presented by this system include damaging straight-line winds and large hail. Tornadoes are also possible.

If the severe weather results in building problems (including leaks in ATU facilities), those who discover the problems are asked to contact the ATU Office of Facilities Management at (479) 968-0261 for assistance.
