Virginia State Police: Bear hit and killed on I-395 North in Arlington

ARLINGTON, Virginia (DC News Now) — A bear was struck and killed in the northbound lanes of Interstate 395 on Saturday, according to the Virginia State Police (VSP).

Shortly before 2:10 p.m., a driver called VSP to report a dead bear on the side of the highway near Exit 8C in Arlington.

A police officer contacted Arlington County Animal Control to remove the bear’s body.

In June, several bears were spotted in the area, including the body of a bear that, according to Arlington authorities, disposed of illegally.
